Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp

For 42 years the Pittsburgh Steelers have held their annual summer Steelers training camp on the scenic fields of St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. Thousands of Steelers fans make the pilgrimage each year to the training camp known as one of the most fan-friendly in the NFL. Steelers training camp attracts some of the league's largest daily crowds.

The 2008 Steelers training camp at St. Vincent College begins with players reporting on Sunday, July 27, wih the first open practice on Monday, July 28. The final Steelers training camp practice open to the public is on Sunday, August 17.

When & Where

Morning practices at Steelers training camp are closed to the public, but afternoon and evening sessions are generally free and open for watching. The only exception is the night practice at Latrobe High School where a small admission fee is charged. Most practices (unless otherwise indicated) are held at St Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.

Afternoon practices generally start at 2:55pm and run to about 5pm. The St. Vincent campus opens at 1:30pm for fans. Parking lots open at 12 noon. Changes for night practices. Bad weather may cause a practice to be cancelled without notice.

What Not to Bring to Steelers Training Camp

Videotaping of Steelers workouts is not permitted and video cameras should not be brought on the campus. Alcoholic beverages and pets are also not permitted on campus. Bags and coolers will be searched by security.

Autographs

There are designated areas where fans are allowed to stand and ask for autographs as the players leave practice, but it is up to each individual player whether or not they will sign on a particular day.

The Steelers Experience

The Steelers Experience takes place at an adjacent field on the campus of St. Vincent College, with games and exhibits hosted by the Steelers to give fans their own taste of training camp. Usually open from one hour before practice begins to one hour after practice ends (about 2:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m.) on open camp days.
