Pittsburgh Movies - Cinema in the Park

Grab a blanket and head out for an unforgettable evening of cinema under the stars. Pittsburgh Citipark's Cinema in the Park features popular family-friendly movies at seven Pittsburgh area parks. Movies are shown seven days a week (a different park each night) and run from the second weekend in June through the end of August. Best of all - they're free!

Cinema in the Parks movies for 2009 include Slumdog Millionaire, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Dark Knight, WALL-E, Mamma Mia!, Escape 2 Africa, Madagascar, and other classic and current movie favorites for all family members. The specific movie schedule for each park is listed below.

Cinema Locations:

• Schenley Park (Flagstaff Hill), Sundays & Wednesdays
• East Liberty (Beatty Street, behind Carnegie Library), Mondays
• Robert E. Williams Memorial Park (Milwaukee and Adelaide Streets, Hill District), Tuesdays
• Brookline Memorial Park (Oakridge Street), Thursdays
• Arsenal Park (39th and Butler Streets, Lawrenceville), Fridays
• Riverview Park (Observatory Hill), Saturdays
• Grandview Park (Bailey Avenue, Mt. Washington), Saturdays

Details:

Movies generally start around 9:00 p.m. You can bring your own food, drinks and snacks, but no glass bottles or alcoholic beverages -- they are prohibited in all Pittsburgh city parks. Inclement weather may cause cancellations. Watch for cancellation information on KDKA-TV news on weekdays at 5 & 6 p.m.
