Cowans Gap Campground - State Park
Located in the beautiful Allens Valley of Fulton County, Cowans Gap has 224 campsites in two areas as well as 10 rustic cabins. The campground features a sanitary dump station, flush toilets, and hot showers. An overnight courtesy boat mooring area is provided for registered campers during their stay at the park.
Greenwood Furnace Camping - State Park
Nestled in the mountains of northeastern Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, historic Greenwood Furnace State Park offers fifty-one forested tent and trailer campsites, most with electric service. A washhouse with flush toilets, hot showers and laundry tubs is available.
Kentuck Campground, Ohiopyle - State Park
Open from the beginning of March to late December, this modern campground near the Youghiogheny River has 226 campsites, 27 of which are more private walk-in campsites. The campground has washhouses with hot water and flush toilets, four children’s play areas, and a sanitary dumping station. A few campsites have electric hookups. Advance reservations strongly recommended.
Keystone Campground - State Park
Keystone State Park, located a short drive from Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County, offers camping opportunities in two campgrounds. Lakeside Campground has 40 sites and is adjacent to the lake. Hillside Campground has 60 sites and is in a more remote area of the park for those wishing more privacy.
Kooser Campground - State Park
One of many Civilian Conservation Corps built Pennsylvania campgrounds, Kooser State Park campground offers 47 rustic (non-flush toilets) tent and trailer campsites, some with electric. Nine rustic rental cabins are available for use year-round.
Laurel Ridge Camping - State Park
With camping accessible only to hikers and backpackers, the Laurel Highlands Trail in this large Pennsylvania state park extends over 70 miles and features trail shelters for overnight camping.
Madison / Pittsburgh SE - KOA
Although located in Westmoreland County, this is the closest KOA campground to Pittsburgh and Monroeville. Offers pull-thru sites, full-hookups, modem dataport, swimming pool, and free fishing.
Mill Run Campground - Army Corps of Engineers
This small 20-site campground is located in a wooded area on the Mill Run tributary of Youghiogheny Lake. Showers are not available. Mill Run operates under self-registration May 1- Sept 30 and remains open, free of charge, the rest of the year without facilities.
Outflow Campground - Army Corps of Engineers
Located just below the dam along the Youghiogheny River, Outflow Camping Area includes 75 campsites, 20 electric sites – 1 w. full hookups, and the rest non-electric. The Youghiogheny River Hiking-Biking Trail South extends into the campground. Full facilities, including showers, are available mid-May through mid-September.
Prince Gallitzin Campground - State Park
One of the major attractions to scenic Prince Gallitzin State Park, the 437-site tent and trailer sites at Crooked Run Campground are open from the second Friday in April through mid-December. Ten modern cabins are available for rent year-round. Campground offers showers, flush toilets, camp store, boat rentals, and guarded swimming beach.
River's Edge Family Campground - Private
150+ campsites are located just a stone's throw from the Great Allegheny Passage trail and the Youghiogheny River, providing a wealth of recreational opportunities. Full hook-up campsites with electric, water, cable, and sewage, plus a swimming pool, game room, hot showers, and a camp store.
Tub Run Campground - Army Corps of Engineers
101 camp sites (30 electric sites, 12 walk-in, 14 lakeside, and the rest non-electric) are located on a quite cove of Youghiogheny Lake. Showers, a swim area, and boat launch are located within the campground.
