The Bowl

The Bowl forms the heart and focus of the Flight 93 National Memorial and Park. The large, exisiting landform is roughly circular in shape, bordered along one edge by the Sacred Ground (the yellow-shaded area at the bottom fo the circle). The circular design enhances the flight path approach of Flight 93, from its approach along the entry portal (pictured just slight north of the bowl's western edge) to its final resting place at Sacred Ground.

The current site of the Temporary 93 Memorial is just about the center of the Bowl. Once the permanent memorial is complete, the temporary memorial will be removed, but will be recognized permanently with seating.
