As the final resting place for the passengers and crew of Flight 93, the Sacred Ground is the focus of the Flight 93 National Memorial. The area where the plane crashed and the grove of hemlock trees that absorbed the impact and inferno have been preserved in their natural state. The public can closely view the crash site from a plaza along its edge, while family members will be allowed private access to the Sacred Ground.
