2. Fight for Air Climb 2013

This is not an event for the faint of heart – or lungs! The Fight for Air Climb 2013 challenges athletes in a race to the top of the Gulf Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh to raise much needed funds for those battling lung disease. Climb-at-your-own-pace participants are also welcome, with your own separate start time.

7. CFF Great Strides Walk

Take steps to help cure Cystic Fibrosis at the Pittsburgh GreatStrides walk - to be held May 2 at beautiful North Shore Riverfront Park. Several other CFF GreatStrides walks are scheduled around southwestern Pennsylvania on other days in May, including South Park (May 19), North Park (May 19), Boyce Park (May 19), Moraine State Park (May 19), Greensburg (May 19), Brady's Run Park in Beaver (May 19), Youghiogheny River Park (May 18) and the Blue Spruce Nature Center in Indiana (May 11).

The Pittsburgh Marathon is back and better than ever for 2013, and offers you the chance to dedicate your run to one of several great national and local charities. In addition to the 26-mile marathon, there is also a half-marathon and marathon relay, as well as a wheelchair division, with a course that crosses all three rivers on its way through downtown, the North Shore, the South Side, Oakland, Shadyside and Bloomfield.
