Pittsburgh is the home to hundreds of bands covering the spectrum from alternative rock to Christian to reggae. Many of them are well-known nationwide! Learn more about the artists, listen to their music, and find show dates and locations.

Buzz Poets
Winners of the 1998 Pittsburgh Graffiti Rock Challenge, this alternative rock band has adoring fans nation-wide. Don't miss their most recent album, Pretzel Sex.

Crisis Car
An Pittsburgh Alternative Rock band.  Learn about their debut release, The Justice,  find upcoming show dates and check out a sampling of the band's music.

Dharma Sons
This well-known Pittsburgh sensation classifies their music as alternative pop rock. Download some of their music and see for yourself! Their Web site is a little on the sparse side. 

The Gathering Field
A real hometown story, this band got it's big break by sending a copy of their first CD to the program director of WDVE (a local radio station). It made it's way into the rotation and the rest is history!  The band is now well-known nation-wide.

The Ike McCoy Band
Two albums, The Ike McCoy Band and Made Glorious Summer, have put them on the map here in Pittsburgh!

Rusted Root
This Pittsburgh sensation has toured all over the U.S. and Canada with some of the most legendary icons in rock music and has produced six albums. They have performed on Letterman and their music has been used in several major motion picture films.

Sauce
The Latin-Rock fusion band SAUCE is a relative newcomer to the Pittsburgh scene. Their original sound has a Latin aspect with a little rock vibe thrown in.

ShoNuff
Sho 'Nuff is one of the city's more popular funk-rock bands. Winner of Pittsburgh's 96 Jam Slam competition of the bands and finalists in the 1998 Graffiti Rock challenge, this band incorporates rock, reggae and a dash of rap into their music.

Squonk Opera
This performance troupe from Pittsburgh bills its show as a "semi-psychotic banquet." 

The Ultimatics
Arriving on the scene in early 1996, the Ultimatics reunited three of Pittsburgh's legendary Addicts (Tommy Osh, Ray Christopher and Angelo Amantea) into a punk rock sensation. Winners of the 14th annual Graffiti Rock Challenge.

Vibro Kings
This band's musical style is a blend of blues, funk, rock, and pop. Winners of the 1996 Graffiti Rock Challenge. Check out their tour dates and fun sounds.

Yves Jean Band
Winners of the 1999 Graffiti Rock Challenge. Most of their site is "under construction," but you can find show dates and sound clips of some of their music.
