By Kimberly Powell

After a rocky start, and a bit of a roller-coaster ride, the Pittsburgh Steelers finished the 2002 season undefeated (6-0) in the AFC North, and with the 3rd best record in the AFC, winning them a Wild Card spot in the playoffs against their hated rival, the Cleveland Browns.

Looking back at the Steelers team of 2002, most would say that it was the year of the offense. With the help of quarterbacks Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox, the Steelers set a team single-season passing yardage record with 4,036 yards passing, surpassing the former record of 3,917 yards in 1995. Pittsburgh also set a team-record with 350 pass completions, breaking their former record of 348 set in 1995.
