READY, SET, HIKE! Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is over and preseason games are in full swing. The last two preseason games will be at home on the new Heinz Field. The first will be on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 1PM against Detroit and the second will be on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7:30PM against Buffalo. Both will be televised locally on KDKA-TV.

Over 80 players attended this year's training camp, yet when the regular season begins in September that number will have been cut down to a final roster of 53 players. Get the scoop on who may and may not make the 2001 Pittsburgh Steelers with the following player analysis from Harvey Aronson of Steelers Hotline:

  • Quarterbacks - Kordell Stewart, Kent Graham, Tee Martin, Tommy Maddox

  • Running Backs - Jerome Bettis, Chris Fuamatu-Ma'Afala, Amos Zereoue, Eddie Faulkner, Ron Rivers

  • Fullbacks - Dan Kreider, Jon Witman, Rod Frazier

  • Tight Ends - Mark Bruener, Matt Cushing, Jerame Tuman, Cory Geason, Ryan Sprague

  • Wide Receivers - Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress, Troy Edwards, Bobby Shaw, Will Blackwell, Demetrius Brown, Kamil Loud, Chris Taylor, Joey Getherall, Vanness Provitt

  • Center - Jeff Hartings, Roger Duffy, Chukky Okobi

  • Guards - Alan Faneca, Rich Tylski, Tom Myslinski, David Bobo

  • Tackles - Wayne Gandy, Marvel Smith, Larry Tharpe, Mathias Nkwenti, Oliver Ross, Rob Fehrman, Keydrick Vincent

  • Nose Tackles - Casey Hampton, Clancy Kendrick, Chris Hoke

  • Defensive Ends - Kimo von Oelhoffen, Aaron Smith, Chris Sullivan, Chris Combs, Rodney Bailey, Luis Almanzer, Nigel Tharpe

  • Inside Linebackers - Earl Holmes, Mike Jones, Kendrell Bell, John Fiala, Donnel Thompson, Chad Evitts
