Local Girl Strives to be the Ultimate Survivor! | |
|
Are
you a Survivor II junkie? Then you are probably already aware that Amber
Brkich, a member of the original Ogakor tribe, hails from Beaver, PA. But
for those of you who may have missed it, here's the scoop on our hometown
survivor.
Born in Beaver, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1978, Amber Brkich is a graduate of Beaver High School and Westminster College, where she earned a B.A. degree in Public Relations, minoring in Speech Communications. She is an administrative assistant by day and loves to dance, go out with friends and have fun. She chose a journal and pen as her luxury item for the show. Doesn't that make you wonder what she is writing?
Amber's official bio from CBS proves she is a real hometown girl! She likes Snyder's BBQ Chips, Yuengling Beer (not Iron City, but still local) and her favorite sports team is, of course, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Beaver, PA, is a small town west of Pittsburgh nestled along the banks of the Ohio River, about 40 miles west of Pittsburgh. The town is very proud of their hometown girl, Amber, and there are signs up in her honor in several area businesses. Her sorority sisters from Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Westminster College gather each week to watch her on the show and have raised over $500 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation by holding raffles in conjunction with the weekly Survivor shows.
