It's a word I've heard
So much of late
A little word
The word is HATE

I HATE this word
I do HATE HATE
There's love in my heart
I can't relate

My mother taught me
Never to use it
But the word's everywhere
And we all abuse it

Dislike things
She said, not HATE
Things aren't important
There's no debate

And never HATE people
For God said to love
He knows all our thoughts
From Heaven above

I've marked the word HATE
From my own dictionary
Crossed it out of books
Folks think that I'm crazy

Perhaps it is so
But my life is a gas
For there is no HATE
Loving present and past
