Main Library - Oakland The main branch library is an absolute delight. Services include a wonderful children's department, the Pennsylvania room for genealogy & history, a technology learning center and all of the regular services you would expect from the best library in Pittsburgh. Allegheny County Bookmobile The Bookmobile Center currently provides library service in 31 communities, 35 Allegheny County Head Start classroom locations, and other locations. Allegheny Regional The Allegheny Regional Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has been a landmark on the Northside since it was dedicated by President Benjamin Harrison on February 20, 1890. Offers Internet classes, book discussion groups and family storytime. Beechview The Beechview Branch Library is located in the Southwestern section of Pittsburgh and offers a variety of programs for children and adults. Brookline Brookline Branch Library, open since 1930, has a good collection of childrens' and adult books, public computers with Internet access and is handicapped accessible. Carrick The Carrick Branch opened in 1931 and serves the City of Pittsburgh and especially the neighborhoods of Baldwin, Bon Air, Brentwood, Carrick and Overbrook. East Liberty The East Liberty Branch Library serves the communities of Aspinwall, Belmar, Bloomfield, East Liberty, Etna, Friendship, Highland Park, Larimer, Lincoln-Lemington, Millvale, Morningside, Penn Hills, Point Breeze, Shadyside, Shaler, Sharpsburg, Stanton Heights and Wilkinsburg. Hazelwood The Hazelwood Branch Library offers a wide variety of adult and childrens programs including movies, stories, crafts, job training and computer training. Hill District The Hill District Branch Library opened in 1899 as one of the first Carnegie Libraries in Pittsburgh. Special programs include preschool story hour and chess and checker clubs. Homewood The Homewood Branch Library opened on March 10, 1911, the last library building built by Andrew Carnegie in Pittsburgh. The Library serves the communities of Homewood-Brushton, Point Breeze, Penn Hills, East Hills, and parts of East Liberty.
