How to Become a Pittsburgh Movie Extra

Get the inside scoop on how to be chosen as a movie extra for movies being filmed in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania.

Here's How:
  1. Select a recent snapshot or photograph of yourself. Black and white or color photographs of any size are acceptable.
  2. On the back of your photo include your: name, age, birthdate, height, weight, what days you are available to work, and contact numbers.
  3. Send your photograph to Nancy Mosser Casting, 239 Fourth Avenue, Suite 1217, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
  4. Or to Donna Belajac Casting, 109 Market Street, 2nd Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
  5. Sit back and wait for the casting director to call you! Be aware that calls can come at any time and even at the last minute.


Tips:

  1. Extras are paid minimum wage, with time and a half after the first 8 hours, just for being on the set.
  2. Most extra parts are non-speaking and can make as much as $100-$300 per day. On rare occasions, people may be upgraded to a speaking part.
  3. Don't expect to be discovered as a movie star! Being an extra is for people looking for a little extra money, who like meeting new people, and who enjoy excitement.
