How to Become a Pittsburgh Movie Extra

Get the inside scoop on how to be chosen as a movie extra for movies being filmed in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania.

Here's How:
- Select a recent snapshot or photograph of yourself. Black and white or color photographs of any size are acceptable.
- On the back of your photo include your: name, age, birthdate, height, weight, what days you are available to work, and contact numbers.
- Send your photograph to Nancy Mosser Casting, 239 Fourth Avenue, Suite 1217, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
- Or to Donna Belajac Casting, 109 Market Street, 2nd Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
- Sit back and wait for the casting director to call you! Be aware that calls can come at any time and even at the last minute.
Tips:
- Extras are paid minimum wage, with time and a half after the first 8 hours, just for being on the set.
- Most extra parts are non-speaking and can make as much as $100-$300 per day. On rare occasions, people may be upgraded to a speaking part.
- Don't expect to be discovered as a movie star! Being an extra is for people looking for a little extra money, who like meeting new people, and who enjoy excitement.
