If you've never had a chance to tour the Historic Pump House at The Waterfront, then the Sunday Heritage Market offers the perfect opportunity. The restored historic building was once the site of the Homestead Steel Strike of 1892, one of the bloodiest battles in American labor history. Now, from May through September, the Historic Pump House is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each Sunday for the Sunday Heritage Market, featuring local artisans, farmers, and businesses and, sometimes, live music. The Pump House building and site are also open for free touring. A portion of the proceeds from each market benefits the Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area.
