Free Museum Day in Pittsburgh
Each year, Smithsonian Magazine sponsors a free Museum Day across the nation, set this year for Saturday, September 26, 2009. On this day, participating museums around the nation offer free admission to anyone who brings the Museum Day Admission Card found in the September 2009 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, or printed from the Smithsonian.com Web site. The admission card is valid for two people and is limited to one per household.
Quite a few Pittsburgh area museums are participating in this special free Museum Day promotion, including the Carnegie Museums of Art & Natural History, the Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, and Old Economy Village. The Frick Art & Historical Center, Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and the Senator John Heinz Regional History Center, unfortunately don't appear to be participating this year as they have in the past.

I am a former resident of East Liberty. I just wanted to ask you if you have any information on the Forsythe Log House.
It’s hardly fair to say that the Frick is not participating in this free admission day, because its art museum, car and carriage museum and greenhouse are free every day. Also for this Saturday, Smithsonian Day, I do believe the tours of Clayton, the historic home of Henry Clay Frick there, which usually have an admission fee are free.
