The Andy Warhol Museum
Andy Warhol, the pop-culture guru who was born near Pittsburgh and is buried here too, is the subject of one of Pittsburgh's most fascinating museums. The Andy Warhol Museum, located on Pittsburgh's North Shore, features the expected silk-screened pictures of Campbell's Soup cans and funky images of Marilyn Monroe. There's a lot more there too, including films, paintings, drawings, and his famous time capsules - over 600 cardboard boxes filled with items from Andy's everyday life, ranging from phone messages to a pair of Clark Gable's shoes.
If you haven't been to the Andy Warhol museum before, then I recommend stopping by during their Good Fridays social event. Each Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. get in with half-price regular Museum admission and enjoy special programs plus a cash bar in the entrance gallery. If you have children or teens in tow, then you might want to check out the Weekend Factory, held every Saturday from noon to 4:00 p.m. which gives visitors the opportunity to experiment hands-on with various Warhol techniques.

I didn’t know that there was an Andy Warhol museum. I believe that Andy Warhol is credited for making pop art ahit during his time. He mingled with celebrities and artists. He is also considered one of the most eccentric figures of his time.
I just visited the museum yesterday, with my son who is visited from southern California! It was wonderful! I especially enjoyed the “Time Capsule” areas, with many items displayed from his family life and personal life, starting when he was born in the city I call “home”, and the city he was born in also.
