Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta 2009
Monday June 22, 2009
The 2009 Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta offers three days of non-stop action over the July 4th holiday weekend, including power boat races, freestyle motocross, Nik Wallenda's nearly 1,000-foot long "Walk Over the Water" across the Allegheny River, and, of course, the always popular Fourth of July "Flashes of Freedom" Fireworks Fantasia fireworks show -from the world's best firework company, Pittsburgh's own Pyrotecnico. At Point State Park, CBS Radio will be hosting their Pittsburgh "Calling All Kids" Zone, with wild, wacky and fun things kids like to do including inflatables and interactive games. There's also dragon boat racing, the "Anything That Floats" race, the "Cast for Bass" fishing tournament, a US Air Force "Wild Blue Yonder" Apache Helicopter demo, and concerts by a variety of local and national acts - including headliner, Three Dog Night. Did I mention that it's free? What a way to celebrate the Fourth of July!
