The World Famous New River Train
Tuesday September 30, 2008
One of fall's special pleasures, the world-renowned New River Train offers several scenic 300-mile round-trips each fall through the New River Gorge in West Virginia. The unique train excursion offers stunning views of West Virginia's fall color, plus a historic journey past ghost towns, the remains of old coal mining camps, and the New River Gorge Bridge. The New River Train runs only in October as a fund-raising venture for the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society. Tickets are usually sold out well in advance, but there are actually a few left as of now - available only by phone.
