Parking for Tonight's Steelers Game
Monday September 29, 2008
Parking for tonight's home Steelers game against the Baltimore Ravens may take more than the usual amount of patience as crowds arriving for the game compete with space on the roads and in the garages with downtown workers heading out for the day. If you're one of the many fans with pre-sold parking, the lots around the stadium will open at 3:30 p.m. for parking and tailgating. Other Steelers fans arriving after mid-afternoon should utilize the following Steelers parking options:
parking areas in the Golden Triangle - Nine Downtown Pittsburgh Parking Authority garages, plus the Mon Wharf, the Convention Center garage and the Fifth Avenue Place garage offer $5 flat-rate parking. From these downtown parking locations, as well as the Gateway "T" station, you can walk over to Heinz Field via the Ft. Duquesne Bridge walk or sidewalks on the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Shuttle buses from downtown to Heinz Field are available for $1.50 per person, each way. If you prefer door to door service, then park in the First Avenue Garage or the new Grant Street Transportation Center (at Eleventh Street) and catch a shuttle bus to Gate A at Heinz Field.
Station Square - Park at Station Square for $8.00, or take the T in from the South Hills, and then ride the Gateway Clipper Fleet shuttle boat to the game ($5.00 per person each way).
Port Authority's regional Park & Ride shuttles - Four regional Park & Ride shuttles (one each for the north, south, east and west) are available to transport Steelers fans from Park and Ride lots straight to Heinz Field.
Kickoff for tonight's Steelers-Ravens game is at 8:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and to pass through stadium security. The Coca-Cola Great Hall and the South Plaza (Gates A and B) will open at 5:30 p.m. Gate C (access to seating, club lounges and suites) will open at 6:30 p.m.
