Free Museum Day in Pittsburgh

Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day 2008 is a nationwide event taking place today - Saturday, September 27, 2008. On this day, participating museums around the nation offer free admission to anyone who brings the Museum Day Admission Card found in the September 2008 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, or printed from the Smithsonian.com Web site. The admission card is valid for two people and is limited to one per household.

Quite a few Pittsburgh area museums are participating in this special free Museum Day promotion, including the Carnegie Museums of Art & Natural History, the Frick Art & Historical Center, Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, the Senator John Heinz Regional History Center, the Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, and Old Economy Village.
