Don Knotts (July 21, 1924 - February 24, 2006)

Morgantown, WV, native Don Knotts, best known for his roles as the neurotic deputy sheriff Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show and the eccentric, leisure-suit clad landlord Mr. Furley of the hit comedy, Three's Company, has died at the age of 81. Mr. Knotts died Friday night of complications from lung cancer at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. His half-century career included seven TV series and more than 25 films.
