Cultural Center Renamed to Honor August Wilson

To honor one of its native sons, the city of Pittsburgh has formally renamed its new African American Cultural Center after the late Pittsburgh-born Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson. In adopting his name, The August Wilson Center for African American Culture pays tribute to an exemplary artist, while announcing its aspiration to become a comprehensive, national organization.
