Legacy of the Steelers Logo

Thursday February 2, 2006
The Pittsburgh Steelers value tradition, and their easily recognizable three-diamond logo is an excellent example. The Steelers logo, originally adopted from the Steelmark of the country's steel industry at the suggestion of a Cleveland (egad!) company has remained unchanged since 1963.

Photo from AISI: Four Steelers players — running backs John Henry Johnson and Dick Hoak, quarterback Bobby Layne and receiver Buddy Dial — proudly hold up the new Steelers logo for publicity photos prior to the 1962 Steelers training camp.
