WV Governor Wants Coal Mines Shut Down

After two more mine workers were killed today in separate accidents, West Virginia governor Joe Manchin called for all coal companies in the state to shut down for safety checks. The call is voluntary, but the WV Coal Association, which accounts for 80 percent of the state's coal production, says its members will comply. Some mines have already had their safety reviews and resumed work.
