Sago Mine Fund

A fund has been begun by International Coal Group to provide financial support to the families of the deceased miners. Saying that "no amount of money can take the place of a loved one," the company recognizes that families will have financial needs and has established the fund with an initial contribution of $2 million.

A competitor of ICG, Massey Energy, has pledged $250,000, and hundreds of other contributions are pouring in from around the country. People who wish to contribute to the Sago Mine Fund may do so by calling 1-800-811-0441.
