A Million Dollar Marriage Proposal
Sunday May 9, 2004
Hometown girl Amber Brkich won a million dollars tonight during the live finale of Survivor All-Stars. And "Boston Rob" Mariano won Amber.
Prior to learning the results of the vote, Robert Mariano, Amber's fellow competitor in the final two, said that, win or lose, "I feel like I already won," before turning to Amber and asking her to marry him on live TV (Amber said yes!).
Sort of made the announcement of the winner a bit anticlimactic, but by one vote Amber Brkich was then proclaimed the winner of Survivor All-Stars. Not bad for a girl that was initially given a 50:1 chance of winning by TV Guide.
The other Pittsburgh Survivor All-Star, Jenna Morasca, also had some news of her own. She confirmed the rumors that she and Survivor Africa winner, Ethan Zohn, have a strong relationship.
What Are They Doing Now?
Since filming Survivor Amazon and losing her mother last November, Jenna Morasca "has been on leave from the University of Pittsburgh, although she is taking some online courses and plans to return to her studies at some point," according to an interview with the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. She also said that she is serving on the board of directors of Animal Friends of Pittsburgh, although their Web site does not confirm this (could just be out of date).
Recently ranked No. 50 in Maxim's list of the Top 100 hottest women for 2004, Amber Brkich has been playing it fairly quiet for the past few months in her hometown of Beaver where she works at a health club.
